The short version: EarnIt helps families manage screen time, but it's a tool,
not a substitute for supervision. Premium is a monthly subscription billed by Apple that
renews automatically until you cancel in your device's Settings. One subscription covers the
whole family.
1. Agreement
These Terms of Use apply to the EarnIt app. By downloading or using EarnIt you agree to
these terms and to Apple's
Licensed
Application End User License Agreement (the "Standard EULA"), which forms part of these
terms. If anything here conflicts with the Standard EULA, these terms apply to the extent
the Standard EULA allows.
2. Who Can Use EarnIt
Parent accounts must be created by an adult (18 or over) who is the parent or legal
guardian of the children added to the family.
Children may use EarnIt only as part of a family created by their parent or guardian.
You are responsible for the accounts in your family and for keeping join codes private.
3. Screen Time Controls
EarnIt uses Apple's Screen Time framework to block and unblock apps on a child's device.
It relies on Screen Time being set up correctly, including Family Sharing and permission
granted on the child's device. We cannot guarantee that every app or website will always
be blocked, that limits cannot be worked around, or that blocking will never be interrupted
by iOS updates, device settings, or loss of connectivity. EarnIt is not a substitute for
parental supervision.
4. EarnIt Premium
What you get — Premium unlocks the features described in the app at the
time of purchase for every member of your family.
Billing — Premium is an auto-renewable monthly subscription. Payment is
charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.
Automatic renewal — your subscription renews automatically at the same
price unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current
period. Your Apple Account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the
current period.
Managing and cancelling — you can manage or cancel your subscription in
your device's Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops future renewals;
you keep Premium until the end of the period you have paid for.
Free trials — if a free trial is offered, any unused part of it ends when
you buy a subscription.
Refunds — refunds are handled by Apple under its policies. You can request
one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription. Cancel it in
Settings first to avoid further charges.
Price changes — if the price changes, Apple will notify you and, where
required, ask for your consent before renewing at the new price.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
Upload content that is unlawful, harmful, or that you don't have the right to share
Try to access another family's data, or interfere with EarnIt's servers or security
Reverse engineer the app except where the law allows
Use EarnIt to monitor anyone other than children in your care
We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.
6. Your Content
You keep ownership of the content you add, such as names, chores and photos. You give us
permission to store and display it to members of your family only so we can provide the
service. How we handle personal information is described in our
Privacy Policy.
7. Changes and Availability
We may update EarnIt, change or remove features, or update these terms. If we make
significant changes to these terms, we will tell you in the app. We aim to keep EarnIt
available but cannot promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free.
8. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death
or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud, or your statutory rights as a
consumer. Otherwise, to the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or
unforeseeable loss, or for any loss caused by apps or content that Screen Time did not
block. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for EarnIt Premium in
the 12 months before the claim.
9. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or
Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
