How do I set EarnIt up?
What does my child's device need for screen time controls to work?
EarnIt uses Apple's Screen Time, which needs your child's Apple Account to be part of your Family Sharing group as a child. You can set this up in Settings → [your name] → Family on your iPhone. When EarnIt asks for Screen Time permission on your child's device, a parent approves it with their own Apple Account. After that, your child can't remove the restrictions or delete EarnIt themselves.
How do I add another parent?
Go to Settings → Invite a co-parent to get a code (valid for 24 hours). The other parent installs EarnIt, signs in and enters the code. Both parents can approve chores and manage the family.
How does my child earn screen time?
Apps are locked by default. Your child picks a chore, does it, and marks it complete — optionally with a photo. You'll get a notification to approve or reject it. When you approve, the chore's minutes are added to your child's balance for the day, and they can tap Use screen time to unlock their apps.
Can my child save time for later?
Yes. During a session, your child can tap Pause & save time to lock their apps again and keep the minutes they haven't used for later that day. Earned time resets at midnight, except that unused Saturday time carries over to Sunday. Time earned on weekdays never carries over to the weekend.
Does locking the device pause the timer?
No — a session runs on the clock. If your child is stepping away, they should tap Pause & save time first.
Can I keep some apps blocked even during screen time?
Yes. On your child's device, tap the lock icon in EarnIt (Face ID or passcode required) and choose the apps and categories to always block.
What is Travel Mode?
For long journeys, a Travel Mode code lifts all restrictions on your child's device for 12 hours. Find your codes in Settings → Travel Mode. Each code can only be used once.
My child has been signed out. How do they get back in?
On your device, touch and hold your child's avatar on the dashboard, choose Resend login code, and enter the new code on their device.
What does Premium include?
Unlimited children, unlimited chores per child, your own custom chores, the ability to change the reward and rules for any chore, and 30 days of history. One subscription covers your whole family, on every device.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple. On your iPhone, go to Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → EarnIt. You keep Premium until the end of the period you've paid for.
What happens to my custom chores if Premium ends?
They're kept, but hidden until your family subscribes again.
How do I delete my account?
In the app, go to Settings → Delete account. If another parent is in your family, the family and your children's data stay with them. If you're the only parent, the whole family is deleted, including your children's accounts, chores and photos. Deleting your account doesn't cancel an App Store subscription — cancel it first in your iPhone's Settings. See our Privacy Policy for details.
How do I remove a child?
Touch and hold your child's avatar on the dashboard and choose Remove. This deletes their account, chores, photos and screen time history.
