I can’t see the app — where is it?
BeamCal lives in the macOS menu bar, not the Dock. Look for the calendar icon in the top-right area of your screen. Click it to open the calendar, or right-click for settings.
How do I grant BeamCal access to my calendars?
On first launch you’ll be prompted for permission. If you declined, go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → Calendars and enable BeamCal. The app will then show events from all your calendars.
My events aren’t showing up.
Make sure you’ve granted calendar access (see above). You can also tap the refresh icon in the top-right of the calendar to reload events. If you recently added a new calendar account to macOS, it may take a moment to appear.
How do I change the colours for days with and without events?
Right-click the BeamCal menu bar icon to open Settings. Use the two colour pickers at the top to set the colour for days that have events and days that don’t.
How do I set BeamCal to launch when I log in?
Open Settings (right-click the menu bar icon) and toggle “Launch at startup”. BeamCal will appear in your Login Items in System Settings.
Can I scroll to see dates further in the future?
Yes — use a two-finger swipe up or down on the calendar to scroll through weeks. The view covers eight weeks in the past and twenty-five weeks ahead. It resets to the current week each time you open it.
How do I switch between light, dark, and system appearance?
Open Settings (right-click the menu bar icon) and use the Appearance control to choose System, Light, or Dark.
